Thanks to La Vanguardia for publishing the conclusions of the study carried out together with Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa (CST)<\/strong> and for highlighting the importance of including specific optometric screening in pediatric protocols for detecting visual dysfunctions in children with WIVI Vision.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the article explains: “the study reveals that conventional tests of visual efficiency in pediatric consultations have extensive room for improvement”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The importance of specific optometric screening in pediatric protocols<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The clinic study, carried out by WIVI Vision<\/a> and the Paediatrics Department of the Terrassa Health Consortium on 200 children, highlights that: “More than half of the apparently healthy children<\/strong>, after having passed a conventional visual assessment, presented visual dysfunctions when they passed a second specific pediatric visual screening<\/strong> and an optometric visual screening carried out with WIVI Vision”.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abel Mart\u00ednez, head of pediatrics at CTS, explains: “We compared those we would have sent to the specialist with the traditional method and those we sent with WIVI. The WIVI protocol detected many alterations that had been previously overlooked.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Juan Carlos Ondategui, co-founder of Wivi and professor of Optics and Optometry at the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya, points out in the article the British public health system has become interested in pediatric vision screening because they understand that the detection of certain dysfunctions at an early age facilitates their treatment and cure<\/strong> and means \u2018a reduction in healthcare costs for the treatment of these cases in children and young people\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
